Expacio> Connectivity

Connectivity

The expacio areas have excellent connectivity which allows maximum efficiency for transport of goods, in fact, expacionavalmoral and expaciomérida connect, from their own territory unit, with the four inter-modal transport systems.

Connection to Motorways

The expacio areas have direct connection to Extremadura motorway (Nacional V or E 90) which joins Madrid and Lisbon, and to the Vía de la Plata (Nacional 630 or E 803) which connects the North with the South of the country.

Airport

Extremadura has a regional airport in Badajoz, with daily flights to international airports from Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao all through the year. During the summer season there are also direct flights from Badajoz to Paris, Valencia and Palma de Mallorca.

  • 1 runway of 4.400 m².
  • 2 aircraft platforms, one for commercial aviation (30,000 m²) and another for general aviation ( 5,000 m²).
  • 1 Passenger terminal.

AVE High Speed Train

"expacionavalmoral" and "expaciomérida" are found on the Madrid-Lisbon AVE route. This will be a shared line for transport of passengers and goods.

It will shorten the travelling time from Badajoz to Madrid in, approximately, 1 hour. It will also reduce the travelling time from Badajoz to Lisbon.

Maritime Terminals

The expacio areas are in close proximity to the Atlantic Port System, with a total of 11 nearby ports, among which:

  • Port of Lisbon
  • Port of Sines
  • Port of Huelva
